My retirement has arrived, and I wanted to check out how some of the presidents and Bible characters handled theirs.

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.” Jonah 1:2 KJV
One of the hardest things about life is getting older. Through 5 Presidents I look for some advice on getting older. I also found an Old Testament prophet to help me out, too.
Here are some fun facts and personal opinions about President Woodrow Wilson
“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” Matthew 14:28 KJV
Imagine if he had never left Princeton. But the simple fact of the matter is that there were eleven others. A very different opportunity sits in front of me.
List: What similiar trait do I have with Presidents Garfield to Wilson
Garfield, Arthur, Cleveland, B. Harrison, McKinley, T. Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson. These are the twentieth through twenty-eighth Presidents. This is a list of how I think I am like them.
“I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.” Psalms 116:1
I must confess, even to this day, if I sing at all, it’s only in a slight whisper. With a tear in his eyes, he pulled his grandson close to him and kissed him on the forehead. He wanted to witness the twinkle in the child’s eyes because of his presence.
“In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” Psalms 56:4 KJV
It is winter here in Virginia and we are just waiting for that big snowstorm to hit. It was a sad day in Wichita, especially for him. He is always there rooting for us and He never gives up on us.
“Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.”” Jeremiah 15:10 KJV
Depression brings thoughts like that. You don’t get real excited about anything. The angel stood there a minute as though he was giving Bo a few moments to think about what he just asked. The President, who thought love had left him forever, was now dancing around like a teenage boy.
“But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive..”” Jeremiah 13:17 KJV
His daughters would say it was the first time they saw their father cry. My greatest fear is that we are letting go of our grip.
“Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram; And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon….” Matthew 1:2-4 KJV
Once upon a time there was a boy. I would like to close this story by saying that he lived happily ever after: the end. As time is passed from one generation to another, the twist and turns often take us in different directions.
